Cher Neves is an experienced Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) Assessor and Consultant with over 20 years' experience in education. Throughout her career, Cher has worked across a range of educational settings, including primary and secondary schools, further education, higher education and disability support services. In recent years, her work has focused predominantly on supporting adults in post-16 education and employment, providing specialist assessments, recommendations and guidance to help individuals achieve their potential.

After completing a Bachelor of Education degree in 2005, Cher continued her professional development whilst teaching, obtaining a Level 7 postgraduate qualification in Literacy and Dyslexia Assessment and Support. She later completed a second postgraduate qualification in psychometric testing, assessment and access arrangements, enabling her to undertake comprehensive diagnostic assessments using a range of standardised assessment tools.

Cher holds a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and is registered with PATOSS. She is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards through ongoing training and continuing professional development.

At DunEdin Dyslexia, Cher provides specialist diagnostic assessments for adults seeking support in further and higher education, professional training and the workplace. A diagnostic assessment can help individuals better understand their learning profile and may be used to support applications for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), reasonable adjustments and other forms of educational or workplace support.

Assessment Areas:

• Dyslexia

• DCD/Dyspraxia Identification (16+)

• Educational Indicators of ADHD (18+)

• Combined Assessments

All assessments are tailored to the individual and include a comprehensive diagnostic report with practical recommendations and guidance.

For flexibility and convenience, assessments are conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

We pride ourselves in providing a supportive and person-centred approach.

Seeking an assessment can feel like a significant step, whether you are preparing for college or university, undertaking professional training, seeking support in the workplace, or looking for clarity regarding longstanding concerns.

Cher's approach is professional, supportive and person-centred, providing individuals with the opportunity to better understand how they learn, recognise their strengths, and identify practical strategies to support success in education, employment and everyday life.

At DunEdin Dyslexia, the aim is to provide a thorough, supportive and informative assessment experience that empowers individuals with greater self-understanding and confidence moving forward.
